February was a month filled with love and appreciation at Tinora Schools as we celebrated Love the Bus, a time dedicated to honoring the incredible professionals who ensure our students’ safety during their daily commutes. This initiative allowed us to reflect on the vital role our bus drivers play in creating a positive and secure environment for our young learners.
As part of our February festivities, we launched an exciting initiative called Rams Unite: Fill the Bus, a friendly competition that ran from February 10th to 28th. The challenge involved our Tinora Elementary School, Middle School, and High School competing to see who could collect the most items for those in need. The winning school was promised a reward: a hot cocoa bar during lunch!
To kick off the competition, we placed a Tinora school bus at the corner of our school grounds, proudly displaying a banner that read “Rams Unite: Fill the Bus.” We encouraged students and community members alike to contribute donations at the offices of all three schools. The generosity we witnessed was truly heartwarming.
We are thrilled to announce that our amazing students and community members came together to collect a remarkable total of 2,421 items! The Tinora Middle School won, having collected an impressive 1,211 items. Their reward? A cozy hot cocoa bar to enjoy during lunch on Tuesday, March 11th.
Angie Bussing, our Bus Transportation Supervisor, shared the importance of our bus drivers in a child's school day: “Our school bus drivers play a crucial role as the first point of contact in a child's school day. They are the first individuals students encounter when boarding the bus. Whether it’s a friendly wave, a cheerful good morning, or a high five, bus drivers significantly influence a child’s day by leaving a lasting impression.”
We couldn’t be prouder of our students and the community spirit that shone through this initiative. Thank you to everyone who participated in Rams Unite: Fill the Bus, and a special shout-out to our dedicated bus drivers who make each school day a safe and welcoming experience for our students. Together, we are truly making a difference!
