DISTRICT PROFILE

The Northeastern Local School District consists of Tinora High School, grades 9-12 and Tinora Middle School grades 5-8 in the same building. Tinora Elementary is a Pre-K to grade 4 building on the same campus.  The district has an enrollment of approximately 1200 students.

The district is made up of 4 townships in Defiance County:

Tiffin, Noble, Richland and Adams.

Using letters from each of the townships, the Northeastern Local School District is also known as Tinora.

In addition to having outstanding college preparatory and general courses of study, THS is affiliated with the Four County Career Center, which offers a number of vocational programs and Tech Prep courses of study. The athletic teams compete in the Green Meadows Conference.

Northeastern Local School's graduating students consistently rank among the top in the area in proficiency and achievement tests.

The district promotes and supports high achievement with: technology, a Gifted Program and NOVA, an online course option for courses not offered in the regular curriculum.

Tinora students take great pride in academic and extracurricular accomplishments. The strong support of the PTO (parent teacher organization), Academic and Athletic Boosters, surrounding business community, and local governments enhance the lives of our students.

There are many amenities within, and surrounding, this district that is rural by nature yet a very comfortable place to be a permanent resident.

The Tinora District and the surrounding areas, offer: quick access to highways, City of Defiance shopping and a nearby YMCA with summer day camps, child care, swimming, aquatics, and youth and adult sports programs.
