About Jake Essig:
Jake Essig is a dedicated and accomplished Athletic Director at Tinora High School, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in sports coaching and management.
Jake holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Education with a focus on Sport Coaching from Indiana State University, where he was recognized as the Graduate Student of the Year in 2016. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management from Huntington University in 2014. In addition, Jake is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through USA Weightlifting.
With a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of athletics, Jake has developed a comprehensive understanding of sports psychology, administration for coaches, coaching theory and ethics, human performance, coaching leadership, sports biomechanics, sports society, neuromuscular physiology, and coaching elite athletes.
Before joining Tinora High School, Jake served as the Head Men's Soccer Coach and Adjunct Professor at the University of Saint Francis and as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the nations #1 undergraduate engineering college. Throughout his 10-year College Coaching career he won 7 Championships, 50+ all-conference athletes, 20+ all-region athletes, and 10+ player of the year athletes.
Jake's commitment to excellence and his passion for sports education make him a valuable asset to Tinora High School, where he continues to lead and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential both on and off the field.
